Crimson Desert - Complete Ancient Ruins Puzzle Guide Guide
This guide is written for real clears, not just puzzle summaries. Each ruin entry includes where it is, what to do in order, and what usually causes failed triggers.
Central Hernand (7 Ruins)
1) Meandering Hills Ruins
- Location: Northwest of Hernand, near early story route.
- Recommended prep: Have Nature's Grasp unlocked to open sealed entry points.


Walkthrough
- Open the stone barrier at the entrance with Nature's Grasp.
- Step into the plate room and identify the three main floor plates.
- Trigger the plate sequence in this order: middle -> left -> right.
- Wait for the full chamber response before moving to the cresset.

2) Duskwood Waterside Ruins
- Location: West of Kilnden Workshop along the waterside path.
- Recommended prep: Slow movement and camera zoom help with piece alignment visibility.



Walkthrough
- Inspect board layout and identify missing line segment.
- Find the spare white checker near the cresset edge.
- Place checker into the only position that resolves the line pattern.
- Verify board flash, then claim cresset.

3) Duskwood Hill Ruins
- Location: South of Kilnden Workshop between two rivers.
- Recommended prep: Bring fire source (or light ability) to burn every vine segment.


Walkthrough
- Burn vines on all five pillars and on the central stab mechanism.
- Use left-most pillar as immutable height reference.
- Insert Stab into socket positions and rotate in measured increments.
- Raise movable pillars until all five tops align to the same height.
- Wait for synchronized glow, then finish at cresset.



4) Dragon's Stone Chamber Ruins
- Location: Ravine cave east of Greymane Camp / Howling Hill line.
- Recommended prep: If available, collect mural clues first to reduce backtracking.


Walkthrough
- Enter chamber and inspect the three-symbol disc mechanism.
- Map each disc to its clue set (Sun/Moon, scorpion-like emblem, spiral).
- Rotate one disc at a time to final orientation.
- Pause after each disc and check for partial lock feedback.
- After all three match, collect back-room reward and cresset completion.



5) Halssius Conflux Ruins
- Location: South of St. Halssius House of Healing.
- Recommended prep: Keep camera centered on statue beam path to read target symbols faster.



Walkthrough
- Activate ruin core and observe symbol projected by statue beam.
- Use Stab selector wheel to choose matching symbol.
- Confirm first phase, then repeat for second and third phases.
- In final phase, watch for multi-symbol demand and repeated symbol class.
- Lock all phases, then trigger cresset.




6) Hunter's Cabin Ruins
- Location: Haunted Hill side, west of nearby Abyss Nexus.
- Recommended prep: Clear nearby threats first; this is easier without combat interruptions.



Walkthrough
- Trigger memory/echo interaction at cabin-side marker.
- Move to graveyard lantern line.
- Light all stone lanterns in one clean sweep.
- Confirm tomb response and claim cresset.

7) Haunted Hill Ruins
- Location: East of Haunted Hill nexus cluster.
- Recommended prep: Nature's Snare (or equivalent drain interaction) is required.



Walkthrough
- Locate drainage-linked mechanisms around pool perimeter.
- Trigger drain interactions to lower water level.
- Recheck for secondary drain point after first drop.
- Once core mechanism is exposed, activate it.
- Finish cresset interaction.
Southern Hernand (4 Ruins)
8) Azure Moon Labyrinth Ruins
- Location: Underground chamber near witch hut side route.
- Recommended prep: Learn both routes: intended tree-symbol route and practical direct-input route.



Walkthrough (intended route)
- Enter labyrinth chamber and identify tree-symbol interaction points.
- Activate symbols in required set order.
- Use left/right side completion checks before central trigger.
- Open final gate and finish at cresset.
Walkthrough (fast practical route used by many players)
- On left side, hit required 2 buttons.
- On right side, hit required 3 buttons.
- Return to center and trigger final mechanism.

9) Precipice of Echoes Ruins
- Location: South/southeast of Fort Perwin.
- Recommended prep: Slow movement; this puzzle is about path discipline.


Walkthrough
- Step on starting tile to reveal active symbol route.
- Move onto matching symbol tile only.
- Continue pairing logic without touching non-matching active tiles.
- Avoid revisiting grey plates in same cycle.
- Complete all icon chains and claim cresset.

10) Sunrise Plains Ruins
- Location: South of Glenbright Manor / Emberwind Workshop corridor.
- Recommended prep: Start with outer statues; leave center-facing checks for last.



Walkthrough
- Identify all statues and note which ones are linked.
- Rotate outer statues first to reduce chain interference.
- Adjust middle-linked statues until all point toward center.
- Perform final pass to verify no linked statue was displaced.
- Trigger cresset completion.

11) Steel Mountains Ruins
- Location: Far south mountain line, near Spire of Insight side path.
- Recommended prep: Equip mallet and read all six bell positions before starting.



Walkthrough
- Stand where all bells can be identified by number order.
- Ring sequence exactly: 1-2-3-4-5-6-4-3-2-1.
- Keep rhythm steady; do not delay too long between hits.
- Wait for door signal and claim cresset.

Northern Hernand (5 Ruins)
12) Deepfog Basin Everfrost Ruins
- Location: Mountain pass northwest of Calphade.
- Recommended prep: Use a high-angle camera; snow terrain hides pillar offsets.

Walkthrough
- Identify fixed reference pillar.
- Use center mechanism to raise/lower linked pillars.
- Match all movable pillar tops to reference height.
- Confirm synchronized glow and complete at cresset.





13) Deepfog Basin Dragon Head Ruins
- Location: West of Calphade, south of Everfrost.
- Recommended prep: Free movement space around side blocks first.



Walkthrough
- Activate block puzzle and identify goal mural/image.
- Move edge blocks out of the way to create working lane.
- Place center-structure blocks into correct silhouette.
- Fill remaining side blocks and lock final image.
- Trigger cresset.


14) Arboria Forest Ruins
- Location: West of Hills of No Return.
- Recommended prep: Inspect all fountain heads before touching any.



Walkthrough
- Activate ruin to enable fountain rotation.
- Rotate each fountain head so water streams toward center basin.
- Recheck water path intersections after each turn.
- Ensure all jets feed center simultaneously.
- Claim cresset when basin fills.

15) Drakesfall Gorge Ruins
- Location: Plateau near Hernand border soldier camp.
- Recommended prep: Treat this as stealth timing, not movement speed.


Walkthrough
- Step on start trigger plate.
- Move toward king statue only while it is in safe phase.
- Freeze completely when king turns and eyes glow.
- Resume only after danger phase ends.
- Reach endpoint and interact with cresset.

16) Ancient Rift Maze
- Location: Northern Hernand cliffside rift complex.
- Recommended prep: Mark side-nook stone locations as you explore.


Walkthrough
- Enter maze and solve initial rune-door logic.
- Progress through side wings to find 3 Engraved Stones.
- Insert stones into corresponding final sockets.
- Resolve remaining rune toggles for final chamber.
- Trigger cresset completion.

Pailune (2 Ruins)
17) Hidden Chamber of Wisdom
- Location: Central snow mountain route in Pailune.
- Recommended prep: Confirm elemental skill kit before entering.



Walkthrough
- Open chamber and find elemental interaction blocks.
- Trigger required element types (wind/lightning/water-fire set by UI).
- Confirm each element registers on chamber state.
- Open wall and complete at cresset.

18) Five-Finger Mountain Valley Ruins
- Location: Northwest Pailune, west of Silverwolf Mountain.
- Recommended prep: Bring ranged weapon for rapid statue turning.



Walkthrough
- Push carts to track endpoints to unlock statue logic.
- Rotate each statue with shots until eye-glow confirms facing.
- Validate all statues in one pass (linked changes may occur).
- Activate final mechanism and claim cresset.



Central Demeniss (2 Ruins)
19) The Screaming Vault Ancient Ruins
- Location: West of Rustleleaf Farm in a drop-down vault room.
- Recommended prep: Screenshot mural before touching dials.


Walkthrough
- Enter vault and inspect mural clue above/around dials.
- Rotate left dial to swirl-lollipop orientation (upper-left lean).
- Rotate center dial to twin-circles upright orientation.
- Rotate right dial to archer constellation right/up orientation.
- Fine-adjust each one notch if lock does not trigger.
- Claim cresset.



20) Golden Plains Ancient Ruins
- Location: North of Demeniss Orphanage.
- Recommended prep: Burn every vine patch before reading statue angles.


Walkthrough
- Burn vines on visible and hidden statues.
- Identify linked statue groups.
- Rotate each statue so all faces converge to center.
- Verify hidden statue behind brambles.
- Trigger cresset completion.

Southern Demeniss (2 Ruins)
21) Trembling Woods Ancient Ruins
- Location: Southeast road from Sanctum of Penitence.
- Recommended prep: Keep one interaction method ready for both manual turn and Stab-based handles.


Walkthrough
- Activate puzzle core with three concentric rings.
- Align outer ring symbol window to target mark.
- Align middle ring to corresponding mark.
- Align inner ring to final sun/moon/eclipse relation.
- If a handle will not turn normally, use Stab interaction.
- Trigger cresset.

22) Seonangdang Ancient Ruins
- Location: Northeast Serpent Marsh near waterfall corridor.
- Recommended prep: Clear the base around cairn so stones do not roll off clutter.



Walkthrough
- Locate all loose stones around shrine area.
- Build cairn from largest base to smallest top.
- Re-center after each placement to avoid tilt.
- Stop once stack reaches required ritual height.
- Complete at cresset.

Northern Demeniss (4 Ruins)
23) Kingshield Mountains Ancient Ruins
- Location: West of Tariv near Hexe Sanctuary lake-side slope.
- Recommended prep: Move jars close first, then stack in one sequence.


Walkthrough
- Gather jars near stack pedestal.
- Place base jar centered.
- Add remaining jars vertically to required height (commonly 4 total).
- Nudge only if visual lean appears.
- Trigger cresset.

24) Wiggling Hill Ruins
- Location: Ravine northwest of Golden Gallop Racecourse.
- Recommended prep: Bring fire source plus Nature's Snare for dual-condition clear.
Walkthrough
- Drain water through Nature's Snare-linked mechanisms.
- After drainage, move across revealed pathing.
- Light all five lanterns in the ruin area.
- Recheck any lantern that flickered out during traversal.
- Trigger cresset completion.

25) Fuming Lands Ruins
- Location: East of Smoking Lands Hearth in Deadfire Mountain.
- Recommended prep: Burn all vine-wrapped fountain controls first.
Walkthrough
- Remove vines from each fountain mechanism.
- Rotate fountain heads to route water through full network.
- Check downstream junctions after each adjustment.
- Maintain continuous flow into final receiving basin.
- Trigger cresset.

26) Smoking Lands Desert Mouth Maze
- Location: North of Deadfire Mountain at desert mouth border.
- Recommended prep: Read center diagram and treat it as full maze state map.
Walkthrough
- Interact with center map diagram and mark needed lit nodes.
- Use Axiom Force + Force Current to flip sun/moon doors.
- Traverse and re-open door chains in deliberate order.
- Leave already-correct southeast lower door unchanged when applicable.
- Light all required nodes and return to center for completion.
